Toxicity testing involves exposing living organisms in a carefully controlled environment to a test material to determine the potential toxic effects of exposure on the test organism. Testmark provides accredited acute toxicity testing using Rainbow Trout and Daphnia Magna in support of MISA testing as well as general compliance testing. Our methods include 100% Single Concentration, LC50 and pH Stabilization and strictly adhere to Environment Canada’s standard reference methods EPS 1/RM/13 and EPS 1/RM/14.
To ensure a positive customer experience, our laboratory analysts are trained to upload your lab data to Environment Canada’s MERS and RISS systems if that is convenient for you. As well, Testmark is one of only a handful of accredited laboratories that conducts toxicity testing in the same facility as a full-service environmental lab. The benefit to this is that it enables our team to immediately triage further testing to investigate the probable cause of a toxicity result failure.
